Write to Sell

This week I’ve chosen CranberryCloud for the featured shop!

Here is the link to the item I’m writing for and what she has now as a description.
http://www.etsy.com/listing/55177933/mixed-media-print-the-impossible

I actually like a lot of what she has in her description and I wanted to use her to give you guys an example how sometimes just the order of the information in your description, the layout of it and a little fine tuning can go a long way!

Here’s what she has now…..

This is a bright little digital print of one of my mixed media pieces. The little girl’s kite is stuck! What will happen? She may climb the tree and see the world. She may go for help and find a new friend.

I enjoy using bright colors and different papers. The original is made with watercolor, Japanese papers and cocktail napkins!

The picture is 9 by 6.5 inches and it is centered with a white border for easy framing. The page measures 8 by 10 inches. It is printed on premium mat Epson paper with long lasting Vivera Inks. Please note that the frame in the picture is not included.

If you are interested in a greeting card with this image please send me a convo

It is shipped in a cello sleeve between two sheets of rigid cardboard to keep it flat.

If you like this one you may also like:

•The picture is 9 x 6.5 inches.

Cross Promotion "real world" examples!

Yay! The long awaited “real world examples” post!
This week I am going to post this, instead of the Write to Sell feature….but that will resume next week, as usual!

I chose 3 shops and I looked over them and brainstormed a bit and here is what I’ve come up with. I also included suggested upsell wording for the cross promotion. This is just to inspire ideas and so you guys get an idea of why I chose the shops I did, for cross promotion.

First and foremost tip for cross promotion. Do a search on Etsy using words that you think people might search for YOU with. This will be one of your best sources of inspiration for cross promotion. Be vague with the search so that you get a lot of different categories to come up. And just bop around and think outside the box!

Molly Moo Designhttp://www.etsy.com/shop/mollymoodesign
Tote Bag designers…."Dress up your bags with one of these adorable brooches!

Women’s scarf and glove shops…."An extra touch!"

Children’s clothes shop---"The final touch! Check out these adorable children’s brooches"

Now this is more of a product expansion idea but I’m going to throw it out there…..Another thing I would suggest with your shop is that you make patterns or a “how to” booklet for some of your brooches and talk to some felt supply shops on Etsy about some cross promotion. And another idea..have you considered making these magnets, too? I would try a few and see how they go over.

A Lotta Jazz
http://www.etsy.com/shop/ALottaJazz

You were totally right on the money when you said you would love to do some cross promotion with some soap shops! Excellent thinking and I would get right on that….
Some other shops that would work for you….

Home Décor items (artwork, vinyl decals, etc.). "Check out these baskets! A perfection storage home décor item or storage solution!"

Baby gifts. "Package your gift in one of these beautiful baskets!"

Stationary shop..."Display your stationary where you can see it!"

Sew Write Creations
http://www.etsy.com/shop/SewWriteCreations?ga_search_query=SewWriteCreations&ga_search_type=seller_usernames
Because your shop has so many different kinds of items, you really have a lot to choose from! Here’s some ideas but if you were to do some searching on Etsy, you could come up with a TON more!

You and A Lotta Jazz should talk! LOL I think you two could easily cross promote! Your hand towels and her baskets! PERFECT!!!

Soap shops would be good for your towels…”You’re not just buying soap, you are buying an experience…embroidered towels to make the experience even better!”

Handmade card shops would be a great place to promote your gift card holders. “If you are giving a gift card, check these out! They’ll love the holder almost as much as the gift”

Women’s hats and scarves for your tote bags. “We all love a great tote bag or purse.…check these out!”

Scrapbook album makers or scrapbook page designers. “Looking for the perfect tote for your supplies? Check these out!”

So there is a few ideas and hopefully this showed you guys how to “think outside the box” a bit and I encourage sellers helping sellers! Get out there and promote each other, it benefits us all in the end!
And don’t forget, if you love these ideas, I have this listing!

http://www.etsy.com/listing/54928825/cross-promotion-report-marketing-success

I would love to help YOU think outside the box and find some shops that you can cross promote with!

Don’t forget to submit your shop for my Write to Sell feature that will return next Wednesday!
